Yun-Dong Wu received his B.Sc. from Lanzhou University in 1982 and Ph.D. from University of Pittsburgh in 1986. In 1992, he joined the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology. Currently, he is Chair Professor of Peking University and Chief Scientist of Shenzhen Bay Laboratory. His research group is interested in understanding the mechanisms of catalysis, enzyme design, drug design based on protein-peptide interactions. He has been a Board member of Would Association of Theoretical and Computational Chemists since 1999, and the president of the Asia-Pacific Association of Theoretical and Computational Chemists (APATCC) since 2019. He is a member of the Chinese Academy of Science, and has received several awards including the Croucher Award of Hong Kong, National Natural Science Award of China, the Humboldt Research Award of Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the Fukui Medal of APATCC, Physical Organic Chemistry Achievement Award of Chinese Chemical Society.
