Based in Cleveland, Ohio, Robert Nieves is the Vice President of Health Informatics for Elsevier Clinical Solutions. He is responsible for leading the global Integration, delivery, and optimization of Elsevier solutions within HIT platforms. He has over 30 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse working in Critical Care, Emergency Services, Community Case Management, Long Term Care and Home Care. He has over 18 years of direct clinical informatics experience in the design and integration of evidence-based content within various electronic health records.
His passion for patient-centred care, evidence-based clinical decision support and practice transformation is at the heart of his work, and he has conducted a number of professional presentations and workshops around the world, with some examples including SINI, Insight, NAHC, ANIA, SILAUHE, and the CPMRC International Consortium. Internationally, he has conducted presentations and workshops in Spain, Mexico, Dubai, the United Kingdom, Colombia, Australia, South Korea, Kazakhstan, and Turkey.
His prior work includes case management services for the elderly, operational management for home healthcare, Senior Consulting for Deloitte, where he provided clinical and operational expertise in various hospital settings, and is the Director of Clinical Informatics for EMH Health Care System, where he was directly accountable for all clinically focused implementation projects, and 30 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse working in Critical Care, Emergency Services, Community Case Management, Long Term and Home Care.
Robert obtained his bachelor’s degree in nursing, his master’s degree in public administration with a concentration in Healthcare Administration, his Master of Business Administration, and his Juris Doctor in Law, at Cleveland State University. Robert is licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio, USA.
